Many would say our number one shortcoming is not having the children conform to a strict learning plan. Instead, we teach children with a more informal approach. By allowing them to engage in several different activities and providing choices. This allows us the opportunity to assess each individual and create a personalized curriculum based on their needs. Studies show they learn much more from each other, as well as through play.

Spanish Immersion Bilingual Program*- Studies have shown repeatedly that foreign language learning increases critical thinking skills, creativity, and flexibility of mind in young children. Students who are learning a foreign language out-score their non-foreign language learning peers in the verbal and, surprisingly to some, the math sections of standardized tests. Children who learn a foreign language beginning in early childhood demonstrate certain cognitive advantages over children who do not.

Our vision involves us sharing a true connection with our community, parents, friends and children. A wise one once said, "It Takes a Village to Raise a Child." Children are our future and as mentors we do everything we can to provide them with the necessary tools to become the best individuals they possibly can. Children should be exposed to many different aspects of culture, music, art, & museums with proper guidance so they are presented with unlimited opportunities as they proceed through life. Who we are?

Palmetto Play Care, LLC has been dedicated to the Bowie / Mitchellville area since 2002 after joining the community in early 2000. We are licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Early Childhood Development. We (Ms. Sherri and Ms. Yvette) are also members of NAEYC and Prince George's Child Resource Center, Inc. which facilitates us with our continuing early child care education. As educators we pride ourselves in being lifetime learners. There is room to grow in each of us, to maintain competency in our profession we must be continually learning and advancing our training.

We attend advance courses as well as local Child Care Conferences in the area and share the latest information with our parents. Combined we are the nucleus of Palmetto Play Care. We are truly dedicated to our Passion, and strive to offer exceptional service to all families by providing "Peace of Mind".
